Our veterinary surgeons are registered with and regulated by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), Belgravia House, 62–64 Horseferry Road, London SW1P 2AF. You can check the registration of any veterinary surgeon using the Check the Register tool at rcvs.org.uk.

Vintage Vet Practice is an independently owned practice. We are not part of a larger veterinary group.

2. Your agreement to these terms

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

These terms cover your use of the website only. They are not the terms on which we provide veterinary care. Our Terms of Business for veterinary services are given to you when you register as a client and are available at the practice on request.

3. In an emergency

​

If your animal needs urgent attention, telephone us on 01843 808344.

We are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, for both routine appointments and emergencies. However, this website is not monitored around the clock. Do not use the contact form, email or any other online method to tell us about an emergency. Messages sent through the website may not be seen for some time, and any delay could affect your animal's welfare.

4. Information on this website is general only

​

The content on this site is provided for general information about our practice and about animal health. It is not veterinary advice and must not be treated as a substitute for a consultation.

Every animal is different. Advice that is appropriate for one patient may be harmful to another, and no responsible diagnosis can be made without examining the animal. Please do not delay seeking treatment, disregard advice a veterinary surgeon has given you, or start or stop any treatment on the basis of something you have read here.

We take care to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, accurate or up to date at any given moment.

5. Appointments and enquiries

​

You can use this website to send us an enquiry or to request an appointment. Please note:

• Sending a request does not create a booking. An appointment is confirmed only when we confirm it to you directly, by telephone, email or text.

• We aim to respond to website enquiries within one working day.

• Requesting an appointment does not form a veterinary–client relationship, and no animal is considered to be under our care until it has been seen or we have expressly agreed to take it on.

• If you are already a client elsewhere, we may need to request clinical history from your previous practice before we can treat your animal safely.

6. Prices and estimates

​

Where we publish prices on this website, they are correct at the date shown and are inclusive of VAT unless we state otherwise.

​

Veterinary care is not always predictable. A published price reflects a standard procedure carried out on a straightforward case. The final cost may differ where an animal's condition, size, temperament or response to treatment requires additional work, medication or hospitalisation.

​

We will provide you with a written estimate before any non-emergency treatment, and we will tell you as soon as reasonably possible if the cost is likely to exceed it. Nothing on this website forms a binding quotation.

7. Medicines and prescriptions

​

We do not sell veterinary medicines through this website.

​

Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinarian (POM-V) products can only be supplied against a prescription written by a veterinary surgeon, and only where the animal is under our care. You are entitled to ask us for a written prescription so that you can obtain medicines elsewhere, and medicines may be cheaper from another supplier than from our in-house dispensary. A fee applies for a written prescription; the current fee is available on request and displayed at the practice.

Information about medicines on this site is provided for the benefit of existing clients and is not an offer to supply.

8. Intellectual property

​

All content on this website — including text, photographs, logos, graphics and page design — belongs to Alexander-Wallace Health Care Ltd or is used under licence.

You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, copy, distribute or commercially exploit any part of the site without our written permission. You may not use our name, logo or any photograph of our staff, premises or patients without our consent.

9. Acceptable use

​

You agree not to:

• use the site in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent

• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server it is hosted on, or any connected system

• introduce any virus, malware or other harmful material

• use any automated system to extract data from the site

• submit content that is defamatory, abusive, obscene or infringes anyone else's rights

We may suspend or withdraw access to the site from anyone who breaches these terms, and we may report serious breaches to the police.

10. Reviews, comments and submissions

If you post a review, comment or photograph to any page or feature we operate, you confirm that it is your own honest experience, that you have the right to share it, and that it does not identify any other person without their agreement. You grant us permission to display it.

We do not publish, solicit or incentivise fake reviews, and we do not remove genuine negative reviews simply because they are unfavourable. We may remove content that is abusive, unlawful, or that discloses confidential clinical information about another client's animal.
 

11. Links to other websites
 

Where we link to other websites, we do so because we believe the content may be useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
 

12. Availability of the site
 

We do not guarantee that the site will always be available or uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it without notice. We are not liable to you if the site is unavailable at any time.
 

You are responsible for ensuring that your own equipment and internet connection are suitable and protected against viruses.
 

13. Our liability to you
 

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

• death or personal injury caused by our negligence

• fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

• any matter which it would be unlawful for us to limit or exclude
   

Subject to that, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website, or from reliance on any content on it. Because the site is provided for domestic and private use, we are not liable for business losses of any kind.
 

This clause relates to the website. Our liability for veterinary services we provide is dealt with in our Terms of Business.

We would always rather hear from you directly than have a problem go unresolved. Please contact the practice on 01843 808344 or at enquiries@vintagevetpractice.co.uk, and ask to speak to the practice manager.
 

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can:

• refer the matter to the Veterinary Client Mediation Service (VCMS), a free and independent service, at vetmediation.co.uk

• raise a concern about the professional conduct of a veterinary surgeon or registered veterinary nurse with the RCVS at rcvs.org.uk
   

17. Governing law
 

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
